Jim Bruner introduced our speaker, Dr. Michael Crow,
President of Arizona State University. Dr. Crow has served
as president for 24 years. He highlighted the many successes
and some challenges for the University. The school has 80,000
on campus students and 120,000 online students. It offers over
800 degree programs.
Scholarship Chair, Matt Hill, introduced the 2026 Scottsdale
Rotary Scholarship recipients. A few were unable to attend.
Over $130,000 was awarded in total! Congratulations to all!
Greg highlighted the 4 areas of importance for
Scottsdale. Tourism/Economic Development,
Public Safety, Infrastructure and Customer Service.
Joan took us on the way back machine to Scottsdale's
humble beginnings right up to present day.
Very interesting and informative.
Dr. Leshinskie spoke to us about the importance of
Arizona Community Colleges and more specifically
about Scottsdale Community College. SCC offers a
significant alternative to larger Universities. SCC now
offers a 4 year Business Degree in addition to their
2 year Associates Degree programs.
Past President Jason Brock introduced our speaker, Ann Torrez,
Executive Director of the Arizona Dispensary Association.
Ann introduced her guests and spoke about the mission and
purpose of the ADA. Her talk was very informative regarding
the cannabis business in Arizona.

Christine Dotts, Public Relations Leader for TSMC, gave
a very informative talk about the company from it's
beginnings in 1987 in Taiwan up until now and a look into
the future. The $165 Billion campus in Northwest Phoenix,
is in the middle of the Phase 2 Fab Plant Construction.
