AMBASSADOR'S CO-CHAIRMEN:
RANDY
OLSON
AMBASSADOR
CO-ORDINATORS: FRED COLLINS, JASON
BROCK & TOM IMBS
Our Rotary Club is located in a large
city and its difficult to keep track of our fellow members, meeting
once a week. In 1995 we had a member pass away on Tuesday,
with a holiday the following Monday, so we had no method of passing
the word to the Club until two weeks following his death.
We formed the Ambassadors, about 15 members
volunteered. Three team captains were selected, Fred Collins,
Jason Brock, and Tom Imbs. When we receive word that a member or
someone in his/her immediate family needs help, we can contact the
Ambassadors by phone and solicit their assistance for such needs as
hospital visits, transportation, or attending funerals.
We advise members through the Sunspot or
announcements at the weekly meeting of the status of members that
are having problems. This service helps us become a more
closely knit organization. Additionally, our use
of e-mail is improving our ability to pass the word and
keep the members informed.
